The Pumping House Nottinghamshire.

You probably recognise Abbie & Matt from one of my earlier blogs. That’s because I also shot their engagement session, which you can see here!

The Pumping House

This is the first time I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at the Pumping House in Nottinghamshire, and wow what a venue! This amazing red brick building hides what I can only describe as one of the best wedding venues I’ve ever shot at.

The Wedding

Abbie and her bridesmaids were getting ready in one of the recently refurbished rooms at the Pumping House. There was a full on chill out vibe with the bridal party, and everyone was just having a great time. I took the opportunity to explore the Pumping House and see how the rest of the venue was looking. I got to the main building where most of the wedding would take place, and it looked absolutely awesome! Abbie had gone for a Spanish influence in her table decorations and venue dressing – which was carried out by the extremely talented ‘Save The Date Event Stylists’ with flowers supplied by ‘Cath’s Blossom & Bloom’. It’s clear to see that Abbie had a vision, and that vision was executed perfectly. Even the weather was reminiscent of Spain with temperatures reaching nearly 30 degrees celsius.

The ceremony took place in the Ollerton Room, where Abbie’s nephew walked in with their dog Ralf – who is just the cutest thing ever! Abbie & Matt exchange some heartfelt handwritten vows and left the Ollerton Room as husband and wife!

The Speeches

There were a few tears, and a hell of a lot of laughs from everyone during the Mother of the Bride speech. Matt’s speech was full of the usual ‘thank you’s’ until near the end when I was invited up to the centre of the room. Matt is a massive football fan and like a manager signing a new player, Matt handed Abbie her own official team shirt, which was sealed with a handshake. Next up were the best men, and an awesome story of when they all went to Amsterdam, and how Matt hadn’t planned on how to get home and spent all his money on beer!

After the speeches was the food, a Spanish tapas of traditional dishes supplied by the amazing ‘Salted Orange Food Co.’ Then something happened that the guests had not anticipated, the waiters serving them all day burst out into song and dance. Reeling of some absolutely party bangers.

The Reception

The atmosphere was absolutely on fire in the evening. Earlier in the day England were playing Sweden in the World Cup, and won! So everyone was in high spirits. The party went on all night, and I can only imagine there were some sore heads in the morning.

I had a great time capturing this wedding, and can’t wait to go back to the Pumping House in the near future. Here’s what Abbie had to say about her images:

“When your wedding photos arrive and you’ve looked at them 400 times….the only option left is to spam insta with them, thank you Kev you are AMAZING!!” – Abbie
